Falsification of food products and feeds remains a pressing issue. Aiming to get higher profits, unscrupulous manufacturers often falsify the composition of the products manufactured, e.g. replace animal tissues with plant ones or use plants that can cause allergic reactions.
Evaluation of raw material composition by PCR has a number of advantages, such as:
- high sensitivity;
- analysis of thermally processed products;
- simultaneous identification of several components in one reaction tube.
